like ill listen to depressing songs just to make me feel differnt. it doesnt make me feel despressed jsut in a differnt mood. i also used to think of things upsetting to make me cry because i thought it felt good and made me feel better afterwards. i sometimes also browse topics in this forum only just to read them. what reasons are there for doing this? im not depressed

that's a really good question. have you ever been emotionally abused, or physically abused? that may be a factor.

I've gone through something similar when I first hit my teenage years. I did the same things like listen to depressing music and think of upsetting things. I loved morbid things. But, it was more of a state of mind for me at that time, and I grew out of it as I learned to be happy. I was sad and depressed for so long it felt natural for me. Maybe you're in a similar position. Have you felt depressed in the past? Perhaps you "prefer" feeling sad? Whatever it is, I don't doubt that you will grow out of it.
