One of my (female) friends and I have been getting really close, and I'm starting to remind myself that I had a crush on her when we were both interns at the company we both work for full-time now.  Anyway, I don't think she knows I like her, and I was planning on talking to her about it on New Year's Eve, when I got back from my vacation.  WELL, thanks to New England weather, I'm concerned about my ability to get back on New Year's Eve, as the airport I'm supposed to fly in to is supposed to get 6 inches of snow tomorrow.  I was supposed to go to her party, so I gave her a heads-up, via e-mail, that I might be spending New Year's in Chicago.   She replies, "I'm celebrating Christmas late, so we can always push back New Year's as well."
