I've pretty much disowned my sister for her "pro-life" BS. Even after I beat her arguments into a fine dust and left her sputtering and grasping for straws, she continued to insist that "murdering an innocent baby" (as is the mantra of her illiterate crowd) is evil "just because" and stopping it is totally worth forcing thousands of teenage, unready mothers to give birth to their rape-babies. "It's murder. You're killing a child!" How could anyone think that's a reasonable point? It's pure semantics. The words we use to describe abortion -- whether they be "terminating a fetus" or "slaughtering an innocent" -- are not relevant to its moral status. To prove abortion wrong, you need to show it violates a shared moral axiom. For instance, killing an actual infant can rationally be considered wrong for two reasons: - It likely violates the will of the infant. (Legally abortable fetuses are biologically incapable of having a will.) - It's likely an unchosen tragedy for the infant's loved ones. (Abortions are chosen by the aborter, so no tragedy is forced upon them.) K?

There was an anti-abortion demonstration on my campus, and one of the people came up to me and asked, "So what do you think of all this." To which I replied, "I don't care. It's kind of hard to get my boyfriend pregnant." She was take aback for a second, and replied, "Well what if your family member gets pregnant and has to have an abortion?" "My family hates me because I'm gay."

Don't disown your sister for having different views. You won't budge, neither will you. I presume your as stubborn as each other. Its silly to fall out over this. Just get over it, the both of you.

I disagree with your proofs.
- It likely violates the will of the infant. (Legally abortable fetuses are biologically incapable of having a will.)
Sure maybe or maybe they are depressed.
- It's likely an unchosen tragedy for the infant's loved ones. (Abortions are chosen by the aborter, so no tragedy is forced upon them.)
Or not. Flowers in the Attic ring any bells. Children are killed every year by their mothers. On that note abortion is great.

People are perfectly within their rights to be pro-life. It can be called murder. What choice does the infant get in any of it? None. Every human is unique, and in killing that potential, there will never be another like it. That is the stance of pro-lifers.

its wrong. that baby doesn't have a choice. if the aborter didn't want to have a baby, its this thing called a condom!

Woah woah woah... there's birth control for females too. Guys don't just point a girl and they become pregnant.

Sadly, abortions are never retroactive.

It's better to abort than to kill the poor kid when it's actually a kid. It's better to do it humanely and safely rather than have the child and then decide you can't take care of him/her and abandon them. I hate that it's called pro-life too. What, so supporting the choice makes you anti-life? It's ridiculous.

you're right. i wasn't trying to blame guys, but birth control doesn't always work.

The only ones grasping at straws are those trying to rely on rape and medical emergencies as the justification for why any little whore should have the 'right' to murder their own children.

We have no grounds to assume that. Most humans do not want to die, so the morally responsible assumption lets them live.
Or not. Flowers in the Attic ring any bells. Children are killed every year by their mothers.
It's not always part of the moral problem, but it usually is.

There is no infant to be given a choice.
Every human is unique, and in killing that potential, there will never be another like it.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Besides, in not being constantly pregnant, women are failing to bring into the world potential Einsteins. Abortion and abstinence have the exact same consequence, ultimately.

Disregarding this reasonable assumption of their will is wrong.

The only one who is against choice are the pro-murder morons like the OP. The deny the child a choice, and they refuse to accept that sex is a choice.

You need to prove that it is a stawman, as any reasonable person understands the difference between rules and exceptions, thus can write a law banning abortion on demand but include clauses that except things such as rape and medical emergencies from such a law.

pro-murder
LOL. I clearly remember you railing against the misuse of this legal term to describe the actions of military scum.
The deny the child a choice,
There's no moral reason or method to give a willless thing a choice.
and they refuse to accept that sex is a choice.
Sex is rarely for the purpose of procreation. People who have abortions obviously did not choose to give birth -- which is the only choice we're talking about.

My argument is: "Abortion is not wrong, because it violates no moral axiom." You misrepresented my argument as: "Abortion is not wrong because some pregnancies are caused by rape." This is known as a "strawman." I mentioned rape-babies in my OP because it accurately describes my sister's position. You jumped on this parenthetical because you have no real point against the meat of my post.

murder isn't just a legal term, but keep grasping at straws and of course it is fun to deny choice to those that you wish to murder, similar to denying negros a choice evolutionary speaking the purpose of sex is for procreation, and that procreation is a natural result from sex

Glad to know you retract your previous position and I can finally point out that soldiers are murderous psychopaths without being called an illiterate clown.
and of course it is fun to deny choice to those that you wish to murder,
Oh, I'm not denying it a choice. Its biology is.
similar to denying negros a choice
Denying negroes a choice violates their will -- an immoral act. "Denying fetuses a choice," if that were possible, can violate no will. Invalid analogy.
evolutionary speaking the purpose of sex is for procreation,
Who the fuck cares? What matters is the purpose the participants had in mind. Their choice, not nature's. Dumbass.
the killing of innocents is a violation of a moral axiom
Ad hoc. That is not a rational moral axiom. Killing a fetus does not harm anything or violate any will. It does not offend the most basic moral concepts.

That's exactly what it does offend, the most basic moral concepts. And abortion used as birth control is incredibly ignorant.

Some times i get bord looking for things to talk about here, but Every now and then I find golden oprotunitys like this one that make it all worth wile! The best reason you can come up with to justifiy abortions is that feus' have no will? and yet an older one that isint inside it's mom anymore DOES?! I have a shared moral axiom for you:FETUS' ARE BABIES,only YOUNGER! it's scientific fact! also many abortions arnt done because of rape and incesst, they'r done because the girl or boy doesen't want to to stop having fun! They want to be free! Free to continue doing what got them in troble in the first pace! And the fetus IS innocent! The dude shoulden'tv let sperm touch the girl Or the girl shouldent'v let the dude's sperm touch her.
