Okay, it's been a year since I first started cutting, at first I was scared, didn't know what I was getting myself into, first time I did it, it's because I thought it would be a release from the pain around me, which it turned out being too much, I wanted to cut more and more, even when I wasn't sad, it just became very addicting, I need help, and I can admit it. I don't go around like some people doing it for attention, I'm ashamed of it, I hide it, so not many people know, only like two. I need help, badly, I can't stop on my own will, it has became that addictive. Any advice? :(

Throw the razors away. That's the first thing you need to do.

I understand, because I've done it. Whenever you are about to do it, stop. Stop and just think what you're about to do.

Yes, I can't go to the people at school, and you should know why, My mom knows about it, so she will help pay for a therapist outside of school?

If you can't see a therapists, I suggest you try and make yourself busy. Giving you're mind time to think about things isn't a good thing if all you can think about are sad things. BUSY YOURSELF.

Running is an addiction as well. The thing is I'm on the basketball team, bowling team, in many clubs and stuff, I'm one of the 'cool kids' whether I want to be or not, that's where I was placed, which makes it so much harder to hide it

Actually, I don't know why you can't go at school. >.< But yeah, ask your mum to help pay to see one.

I wish I knew myself. I've tried over and over to stop. And your right, after a while it's not something you do to release emotional pain, it's just an awful urge (an addiction) I've told a few people that I trust and the ideas I've gotten are to see a therapist (kinda pisses me off when people tell me this and have no other ideas. It's like saying, "you're too much for me, you need professional help, you're fucked!" Umm... listening to music, drawing, writing. *writing works the best. Best of luck for the both of us!

Cutting only because addictive if you let it take over you, perhaps you're feeling you have no power over anything in your life so you just accept that as it is, you don't try to take control. Admitting this is the first step to getting help, solving what's causing this. Look back at your past and see what may have triggered you to do this. You need to tell someone who can actually help you and is trained in dealing with this, willpower isn't enough to get through this on your own, you shouldn't be going through this trying to hide what you call your shame. The pain you think is being released is actually not being released, it's Endorphins that are being released into your body that make you think you are having a quick fix, but in reality you're just making things a lot worse, this isn't solving your problems and I guess you've realised this by now so just take a few days to think what your next step is. However, please, try and seek help because you're just harming your body and it won't thank you for it later on in life. Message me if you would like to talk further or about anything else.
