Time and time again, when despots have been in power and any form of negotiation has been initiated it has either had no effect or escalated the situation further. Why? Because their control comes from direct power and authority, and the only thing they respond to is-direct power and authority. For instance, the PLO and other terrorist groups. They have been negotiated with multiple times, even given arms to create ceasefires(oh the irony), land, and money, yet has it stopped them in the slightest? No. Perhaps lets backtrack. Before World War Two. Hitler, Nazi Germany, did granting them land pacify them in the slightest? Nein. The Blitzkrieg followed shortly after. Or perhaps look at when forces such as the UN and NATO try to act. Darfur? Their presence made the situation even worse, and they couldn't even act unless they were attacked, and that was to be only in self defense. More lives would've been saved if they weren't involved! So the next time someone tries to say that there just needs to be better communication with the Middle East, tell them to shove it up their asses. They don't want to negotiate. They don't want their underlying problems addressed, that's how they get their power base, that's how they get what they want. Notice how the OP was talking about the PLO, not the israeli government. And OP, I agree with you and it's really a shame that it has to come to that. So we TOOK from them and war happened. Shitty example. If they were given the land that was inhabited BY Germans then MAYBE the largest war ever would've been avoided.
