But, to keep the point, take it that Russian bombings wouldn't have changed anything, because that is not what I'm aiming at. My question is: would the bombings be more or less justified, especially these days? I guess that they would be seen as an act of genocide, or something similar, because it was Russians who did them (from a western point of view, obviously). What do you think? -- Posted by tkster at 9:46 am on Jan. 3, 2009 Honestly I dislike World War II because I do not think that either side was right.  I can't stand the Nazis and their fascism, but then I don't think the allies were morally superior either.  The justification was that it put an end to World War II, but even if the Japanese were our enemy at the time, I don't see a massive slaughter of people ever necessary.
