My psychiatrist told me I should try to find some alternatives to self-harm.

Could anyone give me some ideas? I need it to be something physical, and no, the rubber band bit doesn't help.

I self harm whenever I panic, because it makes me feel like I can't do anything, so I act.

It ranges from cutting up my ribs with a knife (not very deep), burning myself with a hot iron, repeatedly slamming my hand into a door, and hitting myself.

I don't want to sound like I'm fobbing you off with a couple of websites like they'll solve all your problems, but I happen to have these saved and they are relevant. I hope there's something in there that's good for you.

Try grabbing some paper and ripping it up. It has helped me in the past to get rid of some of my anger.

buy a punch bag, or a stress ball, to punch or squeeze your anger out of your system so it won't reflect back onto you for self-harm.
You can also try running it out of your system, it sounds a little daft, but I've been told by certain people that it really works, and releases a lot of rage, and also whilst your at it, you'll get a good workout!

Music.

Self love?
Harm something that doesn't feel.
Take anger and pain out on something else.
Punch bag, pillow...even something like paper.
Write it, honestly. Draw it, honestly.
Just don't hurt yourself, you're worth more than that.

And I don't mean it as in a funny way. Try it for real just to see if it helps you or works for you in anyway.
