So I just found out I'm pregnant. My fiance and I are totally to blame for not getting me on the pill right away. When this is all over I'm getting right on the pill because I've learned my lesson too late this time. This is the worst thing to happen to me in my whole life and both of us want an abortion. Only problem is I think I need one as soon as possible because after a certain point you can no longer have an abortion legally. My last period was mid November. I think I may still be eligible for the pill mifeprex (for terminating early pregnancies). However, we cannot afford even that right now. I do not have insurance and it costs about $700 at our local clinic. We just got back from a trip and neither of us have enough money. By the time we have even that small amount saved up it may be too late for me to have the procedure done. So I was wondering if anyone knows if there is such a thing as a free abortion clinic, a way to get it done cheap that isn't dangerous, or if the vitamin C remedy really works. If you do not agree with my decision I am sorry but please keep your opinions to yourself because it will not help me at this time. I just need any information anyone has. Thanks.

Well, there isnt much we can do except for giving sympathy.

im sorry? :) it will work out.

I don't think there is such thing.

You should've got insurance that would make this whole thing a lot cheaper and smoother. Honestly I think you should just ask your parents or an adult you are close with. Tell them that you'll pay them back.

I'm sure there are emergency abortion clinics. How old are you?
-- Posted by redhotchilis64 at 10:52 am on Jan. 3, 2009
There's definitely no such thing as a "free abortion", and please don't try a do yourself one. You just need to find a way to come up with the money. Tell family members about what's going on, maybe they'll be able to help you out.

Drink like mad and miscarriage? Sorry if it sounds like a bad idea, family guy gave me the idea.

You might be past the date where it is legal, some states are only the first trimester. And if your that far along, the unborn child has already started to form.

google free abortion clinics in your area.
-- Posted by Monroe at 11:04 am on Jan. 3, 2009
There aren't many "free abortion" clinics, honestly. I've yet to hear of any. If you're to blame, you're probably going to be stuck with a baby, considering you're probably almost 3 months pregnant. Vitamin C does not work, either.

You have to sit back and really think, are you 100% positive you want an abortion? It's a huge procedure that will stay with you the rest of your life in your memory. You are planning on getting married, so you obviously have a stable relationship. You are young, but 20 is old enough to think reasonably. Is this really what you want? Termination? You honestly couldn't see you and your fiance raising this child? Loving this child?
-- Posted by MelinaEll at 11:33 am on Jan. 3, 2009
No...The last thing in the world I want is a child. We screwed up I know but neither of us want this at this time in our lives. Besides we cannot offer a child everything we would want them to have. Adoption is out of the question and I would prefer no one else I know find out about this. I feel like dying honestly. Thanks for the comments although most are the kind I expected. Young kids just running their mouths. I was just hoping for some kind of help since this is suppose to be a support site. I'm glad I'm not influenced by other people's lack of compassion and stupidity. Otherwise I might be one of those people you hear about on the news who commit suicide because of stupid little ass holes running around the internet trying to get reactions out of others. Maybe you guys should think about that and stop harrassing people because there are people out there who will end their lives because they are that influenced by other peoples bull shit. I'll find some other way to have my questions answered.

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ Go here, find the nearest clinic. I don't know if it'll be free, but they WILL know the closest cheapest way to get an abortion. Don't bother with the vitamin C it wont work. Planned Parenthood is the place to go for this info!

Can't you just have the baby and give it up for adoption?
-- Posted by MissPrixy07 at 1:37 pm on Jan. 3, 2009
I'm not really sure what you can do, I'm sorry. If I were you, I would talk to someone in your family, or ask a doctor. You might have to keep it or put it up for adoption if it's too late to get an abortion. I don't suggest drinking or smoking, that'll only cause problems for you and the unborn child.

I checked for SC abortion clinics and I probably found the two that you already know about: This one offers surgical abortions through 11 weeks for $450 to $500. The Mifeprex is only offered up to 56 days and is $525. http://www.charlestonwomensmedicalcenter.com/ This one offers abortions from $340+ and does mention student discounts (not sure if you qualify for that but just saying). http://www.atlantasurgicenter.com/ As someone else suggested, if you have a Planned Parenthood near you, you may want to stop by and see if they can offer you any help. Is there anyone you could ask for help? I realize that privacy is important but if it's a choice between privacy and birthing the child, I'm sure you'd give up the former pretty fast. It might be worth it to suck up the pride and ask either set of parents and/or relatives and/or friends for a loan.

Planned Parenthood should do it for free or at a very reduced cost.

How do you figure that? LMP was in mid-November. It's just barely January. She's not even 2 months gone.

You're probably right about my pride. Thank you for your research. I did already look those up. I am considering the first if I cannot find a better way through planned parenthood. I have always been the girl no one would picture having a child. I'm more the strong executive type woman. Me and my fiance are kind of like the couple in idiocracy who keep focusing on their career and putting off the child. Only we screwed up and now we're like everyone else. I've been saying since I understood the concept of reproduction that I would never have children. Now that I've finally met the right man for me I've started to consider one day having a child. When I'm 30 or so. And this has thrown a wrench in our whole plan for life. Well...shit happens and I know that. Lets just hope we can learn from our mistakes and make the best of a bad situation.

Yes. I'm 5 1/2 weeks at the most. They offer abortions here (from what I've researched) up to 13 months or so in some places. I just was hoping I might make it to the clinic in time to get the mifeprex pill so I don't have to go through the surgical procedure. I have heard it can be somewhat traumatic. But I'll deal. It's my fault after all.

If you are so bent on getting an abortion and need the money, then get a quote on how much it would cost (the sooner you have the abortion, the less pricey it usually is), and then take out a personal loan.

So, have you given any thought to adoption? I'm afraid I don't have much idea, but it might be more economically viable, at least. Also, don't try to terminate the pregnancy yourself, because you could end up with a severely disabled child, though I'm sure you know this.

If she can't afford a $700 abortion how is she supposed to afford a $7,000 delivery?

I've heard adoptions often involve some form of reimbursement. I could be wrong, though.

Not unless you set up an open adoption, and even then it's not guaranteed.
