My best friends were black, most of the school was black, i went to a black church, and i loved all of them, they were like family. My mom even had two black friends. Even though behind theyre backs she called them Niggers. We moved now, to the country, (big difference) anyway, There's this guy i kinda like, and he is half african-american, he doesnt look it though, he even has blue eyes, and is lighter complected. anyway, i told my mom that one of my friends (who is white) likes him, and she freaked out. I asked her why it was such a big deal and she said "Niggers and whites don't belong together, leave him alone. You dont like him do you?" I told her No, but i didnt understnad why it was such a big deal, no one can help the way theyre born.  she repeated "Niggers and whites dont belong together" and i said "Yeah cause the color of your skin is all that matters in life, right?" and i walked away crying. She prbly now knows that i like him, but idk. She went outside, and hasnt came back in, and wont talk to me. What am i supposed to do? What if i really fall for him? I cant be like "Oh btw my mom is racist, so is the rest of my family, so you cant meet them." He would prbly hate me. Usually when you emerse yourself in another race you realize they're not that bad. I suppose it took the opposite affect on your family, though. Your mom is going to have to deal with it. In my opinion, that's old generation logic. It's just a suggestion, but maybe she had something happen to her that makes her think like this?... When we lived in New York and I was 6 we had this woman in the neighborhood who got mad when her kids played with me. She called me a little mongrel bitch. But if you do end up liking him and he wants to meet your family, then explain to him that your family is racist, but you are not like them, and such. He should be able to understand. You are not the one who is racist so why would he hate you?
