Don't do it.
Give me even one remotely good reason why not. I don't have the financial or emotional means to support a child. I'm in fucking high school, I'm 16. How am I meant to look after a kid?
Have the child. The most pain you'll ever feel from it is the actual birth itself. After that, you give it up for adoption, let it have a chance to live a normal life, not worrying about the selfish mother it had.

My dad died probably 2 nights ago Neither me nor my sister had ever met him but tonight she kept bringing him up "I wish dad was still here" "what do you think he's doing?" "I miss him" Finally after all the questions I yelled "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" and she started crying. For crying out loud, she didnt even know him. They dont even know if he was our biological father. Thats the only thing thats giving me closer and the fact that my sister thinks she knows this man isnt helping.

Are you in Africa? Are you not capable of getting a job and supporting yourself? Go out and do something about your situation. Give that baby a chance, a chance at happiness, a chance at love, a chance at living a full life. Personally, I wouldn't be able to live with myself If I took the life of another.
16yo in the second-last year of private highschool. I can't drop out, because I'd owe the school extra money (I'm on a conditional scholarship). Give that baby a chance? How can I do this with no home, no family, no money? It's not a life yet. It's a clump of cells with the potential of life. Same as with bacteria, but I don't see you hesitating in reaching for your antibiotics.

Whoa, what the hell is she so depressed about?
-- Posted by babecakes at 4:41 pm on Jan. 3, 2009

Now you're going to make me feel bad by telling me that? STOP MAKING EXCUSES ALL YOUR LIFE AND ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, MAYBE THIS BABY IS YOUR WAKE UP CALL TO ACTUALLY START CARING ABOUT YOUR LIFE. Put everything on hold, tell the school about your situation and I AM SURE THEY WILL GIVE YOU A BREAK OFF YOUR FINANCIAL SITUATION.
Not at all. Merely pointing out the only other option I can consider right now. A private Catholic school? Please. They do everything they can to repress such things. Like expelling students.

Ever heard of a loan? Ever heard of a plan? Think outside of the box. SELL YOUR COMPUTER, is that too much to ask? Money is money, and life is life. Money is replaceable, life is not.
I'm 16. Or don't you realise that? I am legally incapable of getting a loan. And once I've been kicked out, I'll be lucky to have my clothes. If you're going to be like that, I should remind you that I was very close to committing suicide, to avoid the abortion fee. Don't tell me what to do with my life. Because I was this close to ending it. An unwanted pregnancy is a perfectly good excuse to do what I've been planning for years.
I respect that you are anti-abortion, but this response is nothing short of STUPID. "MAYBE THIS BABY IS YOUR WAKE UP CALL TO ACTUALLY START CARING ABOUT YOUR LIFE. " It is the epidomy of stupidity, shallowness and irresponsibility to suggest that a baby is going to make an already fragile and unstable life whole and stable. The presence of a child NEVER improves the stability of a life.

What would you like us to do? 75% of lw has insomnia. Find ways to keep yourself occupied. You have the internet in front of you - there's so many things to do online.

She may not have known him or met him or even knew he existed, but when someone dies that is biologically connected to you, you can still feel upset. I mean, some people don't feel anything and some people feel like a bit of them has disappeared. Don't be so harsh on her.

Poor girl. She was just sensitive. Nice going.
