I really love cultural theory   The four main problems with most Disney movies are; a tendency to homogenize, a tendency to americanize, a tendency towards sexism and a tendency towards racism. This wouldn't be so awful if Disney Corp. didn't set its films up with the intention of moral education - Disney films are without fail stories about good struggling against evil, about conformists struggling to defeat non-conformists, about men and women in traditional gender roles fighting to overcome men and women in non-traditional roles. And with Disney's tendencies towards racism, sexism, americanization and homogenization - their views and represtantions of good and evil are slightly warped, and in turn so is the moral imperatives they teach.
