Bummer. I've been through that before. I adopted two newborn calves from some guy because the mothers were sent to the slaughterhouse, but they never even got a chance to feed off them so they lacked the vital nutrients. One lasted like a night or two on the formula I hand-fed it, and the other lasted about a week because I started feeding her off another cow....but in the end, neither of them stood a chance.
I hope he/she makes it.

that's the worst. I had a stillborn calf this summer and then the mother suffered from milk fever for weeks afterwards, I really thought she wasn't going to make it.
