Is there any (easy) way to get rid of this virus? No matter how many times I manually change my IE homepage it reverts back to "http://here4search.com/enter.htm?id=1070", which is incredibly annoying. Any help much appreciated.

Download Microsoft Anti-Spyware - it will remove the adware/spyware causing this and you can block all future changes from now on. Also download sygate personal firewall if you do not have one so you can block all changes.

throw as much anti virus/spyware software as you can at it

I'm just continually scanning with Norton's in the vain hope that it'll dredge something up and destroy it. No luck yet.

ROFL norton? you make me laugh. Download microsoft anti-spyware it WILL detect it and it WILL delete it, it's the best around - and it'll also block ALL changes. Download a firewall as well as I just mentioned (sygate)

I think you have Trojan Startpage.

Norton does NOTHING for spyware. If the one lostwitness recommended doesn't work, try going to pcworld.com and you'll find something proven. I had something like that too, only it also would add things to my favorites.

run an internet search for 'spybot search and destroy' download that software, install and use. then edit you hope page and it should work. then go to your local store and by a firewall and antivirus software install and use. and watch as your computer starts smiling at you again for looking after it.
