-- Posted by AvenueQ at 1:24 pm on Jan. 4, 2009 Okay, so my sister has a two year old Gateway lap top and it suddenly stopped charging.  Its not the battery, but the lap top itself that's not accepting the power cord. I know this because we've been switching the batteries back and forth for the past two days (which cant be good, but I have no choice in the matter)  I'll be hooked up to my power cord and about every hour she'll come in with her dead battery to switch it off so I can charge the dead one and she can suck the juice out of the charged one. Also if it is under warranty she can send it back. With U switch back and forth it is going to ruin Ur charger and U don't want that. It could be a virus but U never know. If so, the ac port is fucked/something has come loose, and needs to be disassembled and repaired.
