-- Posted by Anonymous at 10:53 pm on Jan. 4, 2009 So I have a few friends who seem to get everything I want. I know this is such a typical problem but its really bothering me. (we're all seniors in HS) One of my friends gets to travel all the time and her parents don't really havea  curfew for her. Another one of my friends just got two new kittens and they're so adorable. And I've never had a pet and I've always wanted one SO bad but my parents are allergic. And most of all... I'm jealous of the relationships they have with the rest of their families and i want that so badly with my parents but our personalities are SO different we don't get along about ANYTHING. I've tried to fix things with my parents but they honestly just get super defensive and dont really listen to anything I say. But My friends tell me about this stuff and Its not affecting my friendships but It just makes me feel like shit about my own life. How do I deal with this? I know it sounds hard, but at some point you will realize that the things you are supposed to have will come your way. My best friend wanted everything I had. Slowly with time she realized that she had everything she needed. Sounds stupid, maybe. But with patience, and surrounding yourself with the right people, you will be fine. It wont last forever.
