I went into er a few times for dull headaches on the back of my head and the doc said it came out NORMAL. My nose has always acted up funny, it's constantly blocked so im wondering if i have any sinus problems. What exactly does an MRI show? Since i went for "headaches" would they only scan my BRAIN or my entire head to neck including sinuses? (I hear it's the entire head, im not sure)

magnetic resonance imagery. it basically creates a 3D image of whatever in your body they choose to look at. Most likely your entire head.

i think a cat scan is your head, but a MRI is your whole body

They can do an MRI on just about any part of the body as well.

cat scans and mri's are completely different, and both can be done on pretty much any part of the body or the entire thing. They are both types of imagery, but completely different technology.

MRI or NMRI are imaging tools used in medicine. They use it in radiology mostly, to show detailed structures of the body, anywhere from the leg joints to the brain. It's a big machine and you lay on a board that slowly moves you inside of it, it's like a large tube thing.
