Atheists will burn in Hell for eternity if not saved. Just as we would be obligated to warn someone if they were taking a fatal concoction of pills, or were heading into the black part of town, or whatever, it is morally imperative for us Christians to save atheists from this fate. If you don't force your religion down their throats, your dooming them to Hell, so I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up there yourself.

If you do force it down their throats you are not respecting their beliefs and that is wrong. Each has the right to believe in what they want to believe in. John or Parsine, I think you are being counter productive to Christianity if you do this, due to the fact it comes to show you as aggressive and judgmental towards other ways of thought and life.

That's why we have religious wars and terrorists. They operate on a similar belief as yours.

Negative consequences of not respecting their beliefs: - Annoyance Negative consequences of respecting their beliefs: - An eternity in Hell You choose.

John, it can not be proved that Hell indeed exists and the Atheist will generally tell you that it does not exist quite quickly. It would be rather useless to threaten an Atheist with an eternal afterlife in Hell due to the fact that they deny that a supreme being and a counter active being exists.

"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." ~ Sir Stephen Henry Roberts

The term "force your religion down there throats" is generally used from an anti-christian viewpoint. Meaning your probably either a recent convert, trying to figure out your own beliefs, or just trying to piss people off. I'll guess the latter.

You know what people have been trying to do this to me my whole life and im sorry but it hasn't worked on me yet and I am Atheist. So STOP IT you have ur choice and we have ours

Princess most likely he is being racist. But I wouldnt honestly take it seriously though, Parsine makes these kinds of threads to seek attention. Try not to give it to him, we are just putting him on to just troll the forums.

See that's the sad thing here. I try to spread the Holy Word because I care about where others end up... and here they think I'm "forcing" stuff on them. no, I just don't want anyone to be separated from God for eternity. What good comes from atheists trying to turn Christians away from God? None. They do it because they think of themselves as gods (funny thing is no human I've ever met has been worthy of worship) and they get satisfaction in it. Christians try to get atheists to turn to God because they're afraid from them. haha *waits to be flamed*

You're not God, though, so you really don't know what standards God uses to judge people. The Bible is vague, completely open to interpretation, and not a 100% reliable resource, so that's out. I'm Christian, also, but who the hell am I to present my beliefs as fact? We both could be completely wrong, and the Flying Spaghetti Monster really could be the one and only god, so why and use scare tactics to convert people to something that could quite possibly be wrong?

While there are parts of the Bible some would consider vague, I don't see how you could disagree that those who do not believe in Jesus as our savior will not go to Heaven. It's made perfectly clear. Who are you to present your beliefs as fact? a Christian, that's who. Don't call yourself a Christian if you do not believe in what Jesus has said and that the only way to salvation is through Him. Also, I don't consider it using "scare tactics" by telling people the truth. Whether you personally believe it's the truth or not is irrelevant (but I don't understand how you could call yourself a Christian and at the same time deny the basics that Jesus taught) but I assure you I've never told people about God in an attempt to scare them, that has never been my "angle."

The Bible hasn't been proven to be the ultimate truth. Fact makes faith obsolete. Faith is belief where fact is lacking. So you're telling me you have no faith? You have no authority to tell me what to and not to call myself. You are not God, and trying to tell me what to believe, and judging me is hubris. I don't think God would appreciate that. I do believe the basics Jesus taught. Love, respect, compassion.

When you can prove to someone else that Christianity is the one Truth in the world, you'll have a point. As you can't, your point is moot.

I don't maintain that I can prove to others that Christianity is the one true word, only that I live my life as such and making my claim as a Christian, -that- is why I talk to others about Jesus.
-- Posted by yellowsapphire at 12:22 pm on Jan. 5, 2009
The best possible way, Parsine, to "convert" anyone is laid out for all to see in the Bible. The best way is to lead by example. Did Jesus preach hatred? Not unless you were a religious leader. Did Jesus exclaim that "if you don't force your religion down their throats, your (sic) dooming them to Hell, so I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up there yourself."? No. He preached love. He spent time with prostitutes and murderers. Look up who the disciples were...they were tax collectors etc. I'm sure God looks down at those who say "God hates you all" and "you're all going to Hell" and shakes His head. God never intended people to preach that, He intended people to preach his love, and love everyone else (coincidentially the two most important commandments).

You're more than welcome to do so; however, if you're not considering the perspective of those others in your talking, you're doing a disservice to Christ and most likely driving them away.

First, I want to congratulate you for not hiding under the semantic words and being man enough not beating around the bushes instead just flat out laying it clearly. Second, I agree with you, however, I don't think we should push religion or belief on people's throats but rather just inform them but if they refuse then fine no threats or imposing. Third, we most definately should not recognize homosexuality as a natural being and normacly; it shall always be as it was odd and abnormal to our civilized society.

As an atheist, I warmly (no pun intended) welcome the prospect of hell. As an intelligent mortal once said, All right, then, I'll go to hell. (Mark Twain)
