I don't.

I know a lot of people try to pull the "thyroid problem" thing. Sure, that's actually pretty common, but unless your problem is severe, and your thyroid had to be REMOVED, then your thyroid is not making you obese. It may give you a tendency to gain weight, but that does not automatically make you destined to be obese.

Your victimizer's approach is.

And you guys know what I mean by obese.

Seriously, the least you can do is exercise. Maybe you don't want to eat rabbit food, and that's fine. But what's your excuse for not exercising?

Well, if this wasn't obvious, I was referring to those who complain about being obese.

Well, my excuse for not exercising is bad knees and laziness.

I do work with wiiFit, but it's more for peace of mind than anything--

You're definitely not obese, though.

omg. why does everyone have to make a stupid topic about obese people. just mind your own business. you are just pissing off those people and giving them more stress. now it becomes YOUR fault that they are gaining more weight.

How does it become my fault?

I used to be pretty fat too, but I lost the weight. Why can't they?

I understand what you are saying, and I recommend you watch Supersize vs. Superskinny (channel 4 uk and youtube) It can be to do with emotional trauma and neglect from childhood that brings a comfort to them when they eat and they may have a demancing job so exersise time is limited. Thyroid can make you obese though and the opposite. My mum went down to 6stone when her thyroid problem got severe and my aunt has to take pills to control her thyroid so she doesn't get obese!

I agree.

I'm not obese, but I'm certainly bigger than normal. I'm happy like this. We just want to sit down goddamnit! Leave us fatties alone.

Oh dear.

How much do you actually know about hypothyroidism?

I would know, since I have it. The example I gave about thyroid is my own. I had my own removed at the age of 10.

Then you will know what thyroxine does in the body.

Thyroxine basically controls metabolism, hence why people with hyperthyroidism (too much thyroxine) tend to be really, really thin and unable to put on weight.

The opposite is also true, people with hypothyroidism have a slower rate of metabolism than normal people, and have a tendency to put on more weight.

The problem with you, I'm assuming anyway, is that you're quite young. Some people that have hypothyroidism are older, and therefore their metabolism has slowed even more, meaning that it's even harder to lose weight.

I wouldn't judge people - it may be the case that it becomes even harder for you to lose weight as you get older because you've had you gland removed.
