WTF, I just went to the living room to get some water, and my parents tell me that we have 4 hours of heating left, because the gas flow has been stopped, and our state supplies will last for 4 hours. I don't have any online sources at the moment, but it was announced on the TV here, and here is what I found on Wikipedia:
On 6 January 2009 many countries reported a mayor fall in supplies from Gazprom:
   * France - 70%
   * Czech Republic - 75%
   * Romania - 75%
   * Austria - 90%
   * Slovenia - 90%
   * Poland - 90%
   * Turkey - 100%
   * Slovakia - 100%
   * Germany - 100%
   * Bosnia - 100%
   * Serbia - 100%
   * Italy - 90%
   * Hungary - 100%
   * Bulgaria - 100%
   * Greece - 100%
   * Macedonia - 100%

Now how much I have heard, the story goes like this (if I'm wrong, say it):
The gas that Russia delivers to Europe goes through Ukraine. Ukraine uses that same gas, but can't pay it. So, Russians cut their supply to Ukrainians, who decide to use a part of gas that was meant to go to the rest of Europe. Russians get pissed off, because the Ukrainians are stealing the gas, and decide to cut off the entire supply.

What the hell?!?! How long will this last?
My entire house is heated on gas. We have some spare electric heaters to use, but I doubt that will be enough. And its Christmas Eve here (orthodox). Merry Christmas to us all...
Who knows how long will this last...

Well, the gas is still running... Its -5 C outside, so it would be really bad if the heating stopped.

That was the percentage of gas that was supposed to come from Gazprom, but didn't. Anyway, there would have been none of this crap if the Ukrainians had simply paid for the gas.

Anyway, gas flow here is supposed to stop at any moment now, actually, it was supposed to stop almost half an hour ago.

This reminds me of the Day After Tomorrow. Ironically, I saw it 2-3 days ago.

dont worry everything will be ok

not only ukrainians delivers russian gas belarus also
thats why Poland, Germany and rest of western europe dont have to worry about theirs gas supplies

i think that if it will take longer, then western europe send gas to serbia hungary italy slovakia and other contries without gas
