So I finally got all registered in school and have school tomorrow YAY! But I got to a school full of ignorant assholes haha. I went into the office and asked for them to print out my schedule and they spelled my last name wrong and said it out loud. I told them that it was a Z instead of the S like it is normally spelled in Colorado. The fucking moron went on to say "Oh you guys names are normally spelled with the S." You guys? WTF? As if we are a Hispanic clan who live in the same house. Anyways this was the most offensive thing ever. Everyone thinks because of my last name I am Mexican when I am actually fully PUTERO RICAN. She was a grown ass woman and yet her Ignorance was just spilling all over the place. Ugh.

Well because it is completly different fucking country. The language is even very different in each country, not even on the same continent It is insulting because I am PUTERO RICAN not Mexican.

If you could read you would be able to see I clearly understood what the idiot said, obviously making it simple to understand that her tiny hick mind couldn't possibly think to ask the person to spell the name before jumping to conclusions let alone act as if every hispanic person with a similar last name as me must be part of my clan or something. It is insulting. Not to mention what do you MEAN a different race living "here". This is America, there are fucking all types of races and last names are important to people.

Actually if you knew shit you would know that it is insulting to call a fucking Korean person Chinese because they AREN'T CHINESE. Easy enough to understand right? I don't LOOK hispanic, I look WHITE but just because my last name I get treated and I am constantly bveing called Mexican. Ignorance is too popular, and obviously you are full of it.

You don't really understand what I am saying at all. Maybe you don't understand what ignorance is? Haha maybe you just can't fucking read... maybe that is because yopu are black? See what I did there? Stereotyping with the race. A persons name means a lot, especially when my name is constantly being spelled incorrectly no matter how many times I repeat myself. It is insulting for someone to say what they did NOT because they were calling me Mexican, like I said IF YOU READ IT THE RIGHT WAY. You would see that I said that they act as if my last name is SUPPOSED to be spelled with an S, and their way of apologizing for the screw up was "You guys normally spell it with an S." If you see nothing wrong with that you have a fucking problem. I already correcting it, and I am not bitching about it, I was LAUGHING at the ignorace that fills the world.

Thats not ignorance i GUESS it could be offensive to someone who gets offended easily but you DO look Hispanic and if your last name is common among Hispanic people, and they usually have to spell it a certain way for Hispanic people then they WOULD be thrown off a bit. They didn't even insult you, its sad how easily people get offended by that crap.

S is more Mexican. Z is Putero Rican, and it came from Spain. IGNORANCE: the lack of knowledge or education The bitch is lacking knowledge, or choosing to act like she is lacking it if she really thinks that every hispanic person must have come from Mexico.

Nobody assumed her name was "Maria" or "Leticia" they thought it was spelled with a different letter it would be more like if my last name were Jaxon most black people have it spelled Jackson (common name for black ppl here) and they spell my name Jackson when its Jaxon and why say "you guys usually have it spelled Jackson" I wouldnt be offended because its true

My last name isn't even common at all hahaha. It is just commonly misspelled. You are a fucking moron lol you have no idea what you are talking about because you don't understand simple words like "Ignorance" and "Assuming" Assuming is what offended me. That people assume isstead of asking when clearly they aren't going to spell it right.
-- Posted by Mochaa at 6:17 pm on Jan. 6, 2009
Well, to the OP, that is ignorance for you, but I definitely understand your frustration. Mexicans and Puerto Ricans are not interchangeable, but it is two different countries, and therefore two different cultures, who only share a common language. Also, for whoever said she looks "Hispanic", you can't really "look Hispanic", because Hispanic/Latino is a culture, not a race on it's own.

This is quoted for truth. However, this chick seems to be overreacting. You can expect most Americans to be somewhat ignorance of cultures that aren't their own.
