-- Posted by bautrey37 at 8:03 pm on Jan. 6, 2009 I have windows vista 32 bit.  And so i'm been noticing these annoying COM Surrogate errors popping up at the bottom of my screen frequently and i didn't notice any changes to my computer except when i tried playing my video files which did not work at all.  That error must be interfereing with my videos.  Oh and also i sometimes do get DEP error sometimes too with the COM Surrogate error. If you are try updating to the latest version which is version 7 http://www.divx.com/ Just make sure you have all the latest codecs for playing video and audio. -- Posted by Hoebag at 11:09 am on Jan. 20, 2009 The COM surrogate and Rundll32 errors would not effect the video in anyway. If you are not able to play any media files like .mp3 and .mpg. I suggest you try using a different media player, uninstall whichever media player you are using right now, download something like Winamp or Itunes, either of these media players should run fine on vista.
