-- Posted by surfrgrl at 9:01 am on Jan. 8, 2009

so she wants you to date a pussy whos afraid to stand up for herself? thats fucked up.

-- Posted by Narfled the Garthok at 9:01 am on Jan. 8, 2009

You should have been a man and stood up for yourself instead of have your girlfriend do it for you.

-- Posted by Suicidebooth at 9:01 am on Jan. 8, 2009

well your perents are assholes  you do need to defend your self or they will keep doing it

-- Posted by biSEXual at 9:02 am on Jan. 8, 2009

At least she didnt punch the guy out.... i would have.

-- Posted by rileyy at 9:02 am on Jan. 8, 2009

What movie did you go see

-- Posted by lalacakes at 9:03 am on Jan. 8, 2009

your a bitch for running and not saying shit back. you seriously have your girl stick up for you and you just run away? haha if my boyfriend was like that he wouldent be my boyfriend. I told him that this guy in my 3rd period class slaped my ass and he fought him. a girl likes it when the guy can protect her and you seem to be failing at that.

-- Posted by Natsy at 9:03 am on Jan. 8, 2009

you have a good gf xx

-- Posted by latric3 at 9:04 am on Jan. 8, 2009

Wow, first off you should have been the of saying stuff back. If another guy accused my bf of being gay in public and he "RAN" I would have to think twice about his sexuallity, manhood and the relationship.

I disagree with most of you . I think he did the right thing by ignoring the jerk and walking away. He dangled the bait and she took it like a fish. Why do you think he said those things? It was to get a reaction and she cave in and gave the jerk what he wanted.

People like that are jerks when they  wake up in the morning and they'll be jerks when the go to sleep at the end of the day nomatter what anyone says- or says back- to them. Why play their childish name-calling game?

But for the parents, I understand their position - probably thinking, don't confront a jerk who wants a confrontation or it might escalate. And that's true, it might. But they should, at most, say they disagreed with the GF's actions and leave it at that.

Even though I'm sure there are underlying factors to the insult... Guys just don't call other guys fags unless there is some truth to it. PLus he ran instead of "walking away." Which I 'm sure really did make him look sissy-ish...

Guy's call other guys 'fags' and 'gay' all the time. Nobody should give a shit...

There's an alarming amount of sexism and homophobia on this topic... I must say I agree with al legator on this one :/ It's also probably not great top confront strangers who want a fight, just leave...

Yeah but it's usually a joke between friends... not to a total stranger.... Meaning they may have had a reason to say it in the first place...

Guys insult each other all the time- and sexually based insults are the most common- for no reason, with no "evidence", and I think, from the original post, the insulter wasn't even known by the OP. And the OP said he "hurried" past - it was the jerk who said the OP was "running". He wasn't running. So I'm having trouble following your logic, including your earlier post where you said that if some random guy said the same thing about your BF, you would "think twice about his sexuallity, manhood and the relationship." So you'd do all that because of some comment by some random jerk? Doesn't seem like you have much faith in your BF!

"think twice about his sexuallity, manhood and the relationship."

"think twice about his sexuallity" - Homophobic

"manhood" - Sexist

Boo fucking hoo, sorry for never having to deal with anyone ever calling one of my exes gay... Homophobe yeah, so I guess my best friend (practically my brother is not the gayest most feminine guy I know. And that my other best friend hasn't been living with her studband for about two years now. Whom I love them both dearly. Not to mention my eldest brother. Plus I live in Atlanta if I was homaphobic I would MOVE, and would not have had a relationship with a female before... But when it comes to my ,b/c there are so many down low men. YES I would question his manhood and sexuality. None of my exes would EVER get tried like that. and if they did they damn sure wouldn't run...

But what has fear got to do with sexuality!? Or manhood!?

you shoulda kicked his ass or said something back

-- Posted by eternaltears at 6:26 pm on Jan. 8, 2009

Thats pretty wrong. Although I kinda understand your parents; they probably think that its safer to just ignore people like that because they might get physical.

-- Posted by Soilwork at 6:36 pm on Jan. 8, 2009

I think that you did the right thing in ignoring the person who was calling you a 'fag'. People who do that type of thing are insecure about themselves deep down about something. But you already knew that.

People are saying that you should have been a 'man' and stood up for yourself. But it reminds me of a scene on "to kill a mocking bird" when Atticus takes his kids with him to some guys house (i forget who) and the town drunk calls Atticus a "nigger lover" (or something like that) and spits on his face.

Atticus didn't get revenge on him, because if he had of, he would have set a bad example for his children, and sunk to the same level of the town drunk.

Basically what I'm saying is, i think you did the right thing in ignoring this person.
