It'd be harder for twelve year olds to do drugs. Because everything would be r18 or 21, considerign where you're from. I only know one or two people who would buy me alcohol, but I know at least three or four I can rely on for weed.
-- Posted by One Two Step at 10:18 pm on Jan. 8, 2009
Lots of overdoses, lots of crimes, a whole lot of shit.
-- Posted by RAGEMAN at 10:18 pm on Jan. 8, 2009
It doesn't really matter because they aren't, but who knows. Any number of things could happen. I wouldn't be bold enough to guess. Looking at America right now depression and anxiety are becoming somewhat of epidemics. People may use the drugs to get short term fixes, and it may become wide-spread till drug use is the epidemic.

I honestly think that the government would tax them all like cigarettes, which would help bring our nation out of debt a bit, because all the current drug addicts would keep buying, and since it's legal, more people will start doing them. Drug crime would cease, since they are all legal. The economy would start working a bit better, because anyone can make and sell meth for a job and profit- putting more consumers into the market. I think violent crime rates would rise, theft would rise- but they wouldn't be too much of an increase. The number of addicts would go up, since drugs would shorty become more socially acceptable, thus more people would do them. this would also help the job market, because there would be a greater demand for detox and rehab clinics, and people who can work there.

well if it was all illegal we would be having fucken violent uprisings like africa has and children soldiers running the streets pillaging raping and murdering...
-- Posted by hiddenfromlove91 at 10:31 pm on Jan. 8, 2009
prices would be higher cuz there would be more of a demand (like gas) and lots of overdoses and lots of druggies and probablly the world would become retarded.
-- Posted by HuffleHaire at 10:33 pm on Jan. 8, 2009
Drugs would be regulated by the government, so they'd be safer. They'd be taxed, and the government would make money. People would be happier in general, but also less productive.

we'd be some overdosed mother fuckers haha

Everyone saying that users would increase is true, but overall, it'd stay about the same, because half, if not most users, just do it "because it's cool" and they like to be little rebels. If all drugs were legalized, idk, wouldn't be that good, I can't see the economy and such working out positively if things like Meth and Heroin and more hard drugs besides alcohol being legalized. However, if only soft drugs like Marijuana and Shrooms were... much better world.

People who already use drugs would continue to use them, those that don't wouldn't. Crime would DECREASE. Less children would take drugs considering the age restriction would be 18-21. Heres a thought for you, i tried cannabis when i was 13-14, if it was legal it would have been ALOT harder for me to obtain. When you're under 18 it's much easier to get illegal drugs than it is to get alcohol, fact. Another thing keeping drugs legal glamorizes them, might just be me but when i was in my early teens i never had any incentive to even want to try alcohol because it was legal and it wasn't "cool", cannabis on the other hand being illegal had that "cool" factor. If cannabis was legal i would never have had any urge to try it when i was younger.

crime would decrease the number one cash crop in many states would bring in an entirely legal income rather than a 100% illegal one foreign relations would be interesting to watch, frankly experimental drug use might increase, although I would guess that habitual drug use would remain about the same they would probably be taxed, which imho would be unfortunate all of the money that goes into the war on drugs might actually be put into abuse prevention and rehabilitation rather than punishment the amount of people in prison would drastically decrease.

I'm pretty sure prices would go up, what with the government profiting from the sales. And also the fact that it would be regulated and they would want it to be harder for people to obtain.

But if it were legalized then availability would increase, as getting it into the country wouldn't be such a hassle.

All drugs were legal, what happened? People lived there lives as usual not knowing there wonders untill prohibition came around to advertise the crap out of them turning 100's of users into millions of users. (Not to mention the thousands of substance we now have to choose from) All while filling the jails/prisons with non-violent criminals that now affect the whole economy instead of just the individual(s) wasting billions and billions of taxpayers $$$, ruining lives while spreading brainwashing propaganda. Turning peace officers into COPS. It's a dominio effect that has only gotten worse as each day passes. Crimes against humanity at it's best, Hitler has nothing on Prohibition.
