-- Posted by Go Steph Go at 10:57 am on Jan. 9, 2009 I turned on my laptop and everything was fine but then it said "Failure- security options" and then the screen showed up with no icons.  Then it turned off and turned back on.  Now, the screen is black with just the cursor.  I can more the cursor around though.  When I try to turn it off it goes to sleep and then I open it, it goes back to the same screen.  Has anyone else had this problem?  How do I fix it?  If worst comes to worst I'll just call customer service.  It's a Toshiba btw. -- Posted by Descartes at 10:58 am on Jan. 9, 2009 i had that problem to...it just fixed itself for me. i left it alone. and when i tried again the next day it worked. -- Posted by marshmellowman at 10:58 am on Jan. 9, 2009 What about safe mode? Does it work in that? Have you tried inserting in the original Windows install disk and set it into recovery mode to repair the installation?
