i have been hanging out with this guy and i just found out he is a sex offender.he's the one who told me and he said it was a mistake of sleeping with a girl who was 1 yr under age. do you think he is a threat?

How old was he, like if hewas 19 and she was 17 I think that is okay, but if he is 28 with a 17 year old that's pushing it

He could be lying to you. What if the girl was actually 5 years younger then he was 16?

I don't think that's wrong at all; the age gap is only three years.  What I think is wrong are the people who arrested/fined/whatever the poor guy for doing what he did.  THOSE are the people who should be considered a threat and should be disposed of.

Don't be afraid of him just for that; he's just a victim of unjust laws.  Anybody can be a sex offender nowadays; a good friend of mine back in Ohio was a sex offender who continued to engage in sex acts with high school and college boys (he asked if I wanted to engage in homosex, but I declined and he wasn't bothered by it) - not all sex offenders are evil people.  My friend never forced me or anybody else, but was still considered a sex offender despite the fact that all of this gay sex was consensual .
