Purpose:  
In order to remove some clutter, we are going to combine the old stickies What languages do you speak? and What's another language you want to learn before you die? into one thread. We'd like to keep these topics to a minimum in an attempt to bolster creativity to talk about other things in the vast subjects of cultures and foreign languages! Plus, this is a great central reference for finding someone who speaks a language that you do, or to find someone to help you out!

If you do, feel free to also look at the Language Courses Support Group!

Answer the following questions:  
So LiveWire, what languages do you speak, and to what degree? (You could even use the scale below do describe it!)  
What was your first language?  
What are you secondary languages?  
What languages do you hope to one day master?  
Are you open to members coming to you for help in languages classes or to ask you how to say something?  
Please specify whether you know the language, or want to learn it.

Need help determining your degree of proficiency?

I speak English.

I've learned Irish and German but forget both. I wanna learn Spanish!!

I speak English, Telegu, French and rudimentary Spanish. I am going to learn Chinese this summer.

English was my first language and the rest are secondary.
I want to learn Russian and I don't know why.    

I've always been there to help members with French mostly and will continue to be there if it is needed of me!

I speak English and French. I can speak English fully, and I can speak 90% of French.

What was your first language?  
English

What are you secondary languages?  
French

What languages do you hope to one day master?  
Finish off french, and learn Latin and Ancient Egyptian or Mesopotamian.

Are you open to members coming to you for help in languages classes or to ask you how to say something?
Yes, and I even have a group towards it. It can be found here.

I'm learning Spanish and French
I'm more advanced in French as I have been studying it for 6 years and Spanish for 3.

Okay, I'm fluent in French and I'm learning Finnish. I want to learn Russian and Japanese.

English is my first language.

English is my first language, but I speak Spanish fairly well and I used to take French in school but never got very far.

I speak English.

I'm going into translation, so I hope to become fluent in French and capable in German.

Oh, and I'm going to learn Luxembourgian just so I can say I know Luxembourgian.

I can speak english. I learnt a little bit of french german and spanish in school, but ive forgotten most of them now.

ive been trying to learn swedish for a little while, with a bit of success.

I speak English, and understand bits and peices of French.

I am learning Hindi, and plan on learning Portugese shortly.

Primary is Russian, secondary German Ukrainian Polish Belarussian English. I know Russian proficiently UA, ENGL proficiently the rest just pretty good...
