Would you buy everyone alcohol?

I am about a year older than all my friends. I am almost 21.      I feel like all these people that I know but don't hang out with all the time will as me to buy it for them.

I bought alcohol for my friends when I turned 21 before them. For people I didn't know I made them buy me a drink to.

-- Posted by Ldzpln at 10:36 am on April 15, 2009

hahaha
yeah, i'm going to be 21 before my friends, but the legal age to buy alcohol here is 19, and i'll be 19 before them too, mostly i'll buy it for myself, but right now, i get all my older friends to buy it for me, ...they don't relaly have a problem with it, except it means they have to walk to the liquor store... lol...but soon enough i'll be albe to go all by myself lol

My friends did before I was 18, and since we're all 18 now it doesn't matter. But I do have some friends who are younger and I'd have no problem buying for them at all.

-- Posted by roflfuckyou at 10:44 am on April 15, 2009

yeah i buy alcohol for my younger friends and when i was younger, older friends bought it for me.  i see no problem

-- Posted by rockinralfman at 1:54 pm on April 15, 2009

yes i have bought for minors in the states... dont have to here in denmark they sell to 16 yr olds here.

-- Posted by TigressaLynnMae at 6:17 pm on April 15, 2009

No.

It's illegal to buy minors alcohol. Sorry.

-- Posted by tell me again at 5:48 am on May 10, 2009

yeah, why not.

i'd do slightly illegal things for minors. but that 21y/o alcohol rule is just completely mindlessly stupid anyway

I have friends buy alcohol for me, so I can't down you doing it. For your friends. Not people who want to "hang out" for about 5 minutes, go to the store, and then dip. That kind of behavior will get you in trouble. All anyone has to do is get drunk and screw up bad enough and say you bought them the bottle, and it can put you in a world of legal bullshyt. So, as a rule of thumb, I'd say that if you wouldn't trust them with your car, don't trust them with alcohol. But at the same time, if it's people you hang around and by some stupid chance the cops show up and you're the only 21 year-old, that's on you.

I was one of the last of my friends.  They would buy for me under conditions, and I do the same for my 19 year old brother.
The condition: don't drive; don't start fights; and if you toss your lunch, you're cut off.

I don't think there's anything wrong with 18+ year olds drinking, as long as they do so responsibly.  My parents let me drink around them starting at 17, and I believe it allowed me to learn how to use alcohol responsibly, so that I wasn't cut loose at college with no prior experience.

The age to buy here is 18. I'm 20. But i've been buying alcohol since I was 16. Few places here asked for ID in the past, so any one of my friends could buy when they were still minors.

I was the last of my group to turn 21, so I didn't encounter this predicament.
