No pictures allowed, you can only use basic tags such as bold and linebreak and possibly link. You could always just post a link to the picture, or post the address.

At firsrt it seems unfair, but I prefere it when people do not have picture sigs, as it tends to fill the page up, and you need to constantly scroll between huge pictures to get to the posts

Sigs don't have to be huge. You can make the sigs 488 x 48 pixels for people of a low rank, then bump it up to 488 x 60 pixels for upper ranks. That isn't a HUGE picture.

yes, even then if your on modem (which I am not) it is still just more load time.

Not everyone has broadband, and those who do often have usage limites, that drop you to 56k when your over limit. Luckily I signed up before the usage restictions :P

Usage restrictions? Broadband is one thing, but what about Cable and Wireless? There are no usage restrictions on those, and no neither are broadband.

look at uk providers, only 1 uk provider does not have usage restrictions on broadband, and thats aol (well they are not uk only but you get the picture)

My point is wih a 1gb limit you don't want to have to download 10 sig pictures every topic...

It is a discussion forum, not a place to blather with pics
