I recently purchased a "boil and bite" type mouth guard for use in mixed martial arts sparring. I followed the directions that came in the package regarding sizing, boiling, fitting, and all that, but I'm still having some issues.

1.  I feel like my molars do not fit into the guard correctly.  As in, width-wise.  I think maybe I should go through the fitting process again because I suspect I didn't bite down hard enough, but I'm afraid to bite too hard because I'm afraid I'll ruin the usefulness of the guard and this is already my second one (the first didn't come with instructions and I overboiled it -- heh, oops.)

2.  Drool. Too much of it. The instructions say this tendency goes away by the third or fourth use but it annoys me. Any advice on what to do about this?

I'm guessing drool wise it's like a retainer. If so it does go away, just got to deal with it.

Doesn't totally answer my question, but you did try, so thank you very much for that. :-)

Re-fit it! Make sure when its in your mouth you suck all the air out of your mouth, like you know what i mean, like when you are drinking a milkshake! Suck hard and hold it as long as you can, it will conform better! Seriously, that sounds really dirty, but i mean it in the right context.
