This contest is so huge, we had to break it down into several different little contests in order to make it fair and easy for members to participate. The point in this large contest is for members to be able to work together to create some awesome things for the whole community to enjoy!   We, the Ad Team, are looking for new and creative ways and ideas to promote Livewire as well as allow the current members to enjoy the site and what it has to offer. This isn't the first time we've done such a contest, but this one is definitely going to be much more different than those... this one is going to have a wide variety of ways to enter as we want everyone to have an opportunity to join in.   Points AND Donations will be given as PRIZES! Contest will run until 12:00pm EST, July 31. The plan is 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each category, with a possibility of 1st place winning a donation towards their LW accounts (we are still discussing these details and will release this information as soon as possible). Rules: VERY IMPORTANT!! MUST READ BEFORE ENTERING!! Cost of one (1) entry: 10 points. Please send them to the contest page (we will check the page to make sure you do it before officially accepting it into the contest). Entry fee is being waived due to the contest being extended another 2 weeks in hopes more people will enter. Donations are welcomed even if you don't enter. Any member is eligible to enter as many times as they wish, with the exception of the judges (sorry guys). All entries must be original work made by the member(s). No cheating, or you will be disqualified and your points will NOT be refunded! If you're entering in more than one contest, please post it separately. If you're into designing new logos or messing around with old ones, this contest may be for you.   Requirements: ~Must say Livewire ~May use any color scheme ~May use any medium to create logo (does not need to be made on a computer if you don't want to, but may use paint, pencils, etc) ~Only for individual participates (no teams). Design a Poster/Webpage Banner!   Love creating attention seeking banners, flyers, or posters?   Requirements: ~Must grab user's attention ~Must be easy to read ~In color (if you think you can pull off a black and white one, go ahead and try) ~May be done in teams of 2. Design a New MySpace/Bebo Page Layout!   If you love making your own MySpace/Bebo (or similar site) profile layout, then you may be interested in participating in this contest.   Requirements: ~May be done in a team up to 2 people. ~Must contain original work, with the exception of official Livewire logo. ~Must be Livewire themed (colors are up to you) and showing a positive aspect of Livewire as a site ~When entering, please post a screenshot of a working profile using the layout. Design an Application for Livewire! If you're into computer programming and coding, here's a contest for you. In this contest, since there is so much involved, you may work with other members. It has to work at least 90% or better (we understand that there may be glitches/bugs involved unfortunately).   Design an application that may be used on such programs/websites as Facebook, Yahoo Widgets, Google Gadgets/Themes, Mac OS (Dashboard), Windows Vista (Sidebar) etc.   Requirements: ~Members must be able to use it (without cost). ~Must be Livewire themed and showing a positive aspect of Livewire. ~May be built by more than one person. If there is a team, please state within entry who the members are that make the team. ~Please use screenshots and a description of what the tool does. Create a Video!   Like making fun and entertaining videos?   Requirements: ~No longer than 10 minutes ~May use an video uploading site, but remember that only Youtube videos may be displayed on here (don't know how to post one? Click here for tags.). ~Have fun with it. ;) Come up with a Marketing Campaign!   Do you have creative ideas that you think would help promote Livewire? Scott has actually redesigned a few (he has them on his site) and they are flipping awesome! Unfortunately, he hasn't found a way to make them and still be able to make money on them for LW. :( We're also looking for a better site than Cafepress, as we're not making money off it whatsoever- even if we did sell a few items on there. We have to meet a specific quota on there in order to make money off the stuff, but we've never hit it and it's as helpful as originally thought it would be. So if ANYONE knows of an alternative way of doing this- PM me!! immaculate- can't wait to see them. :) We desperately need an update on all of our social networking pages right now. -- Posted by Deeznutz FYC at 8:17 pm on June 20, 2009 I made a Dawn of the Dead spoof a few months back. It's like Dawn of the Dead, except for a few minor changes. We planned on making it so the whole outside world was infected by the disease, and how people were coping with the worldwide infection. Decisions had to be made on whether to kill their family members in order to stay alive, or to not kill their family members. Me and my partners also wanted to focus on how people SURVIVED during the outbreak. Barricading and food rationing were showed in this video, and I must say that we did a pretty damn good job showing the emotional aspects of the epidemic.
