I see the strong growth of the Semantic Web where computer will begin to understand tasks that once humans were needed for when searching data. Of course this had already been around, but will continue to pick up full force making life even easier than it already is. I better go trademark it. -- Posted by marshmellowman at 12:57 pm on June 23, 2009 They all say the semantic web is the next big thing, but personally I think it will take a while for it to get to a useable level (in that the results have quite a meaningful outcome), and it will never totally replace the current model we have. W3C is pushing it very hard, and we are already seeing it through RDF/OWL. -- Posted by sakurag at 11:01 am on June 24, 2009 My personal view is that there will be a lot more interaction in the 'cloud' with all electronic devices.  The mobile world is not quite there yet, and many personal devices aren't.  But as data over the air goes down in price, I'm hoping that we will see a very smooth transition between our personal devices.. phone.. pc.. mp3 player.. digital camera.. etc -- Posted by anonomouse at 2:59 am on June 29, 2009 I think the internet will become interconnected with the desktop.
