misleading title, yes! but it's true...i hate happy people. I've tried everything, I've taken crazy, borderline retarded risks, Ive gone on dates and had fun, I've gone skiing on a tripple diamond slope, I've almost died several times. But I can't get rid of this feeling of impending doom. Like at any moment I could be wisked away, and placed in some kind of glass ball full of water where I slowly drown. And there's my other thing where I could lose control of myself and fuck every girl around me beat the shit out of everyone and look insane. maybe I should do one of those? but where it's legal.

Stop caring about the impending doom. Just accept it if it does come.

So? Everyone should be depressed simply because you are?

My mother died last August. My cousin died just last month. Both of my favorite grandparents are dead. My Dad has no one left on his side. Please tell me what you know of death. You have absolutely no excuse, Darling.

I dont like to say this, but I think you might need to get some help. its not normal for anyone to hate happy people. I personally feel better when other people around me are happy.

oh uh well in many topics iv'=e said i have a therapist i see. there. anyways, if your working a tedios job with lots of people around you, and you depressed and worrying over college, about this girl you went to prom wiht, how you so sleepy even now, and someone with a big happy face on, asks you where the bathroom is: right where shes standing! happy people, i don't know there are some people in my life who pretend to be happy just to say "haha, nevermind im nothappy" i thought all happy people had found god, but one of my best friends seems perpetually happy, and he's atheist! THATS RIGHT! it must go down to how good or bad is your family? are you happy only when its about you? stuff like that.

@Murphy McBagel & others I sometimes have this feeling of "hating happy people" too. It's mainly because of the fact I had a fucked up childhood and teenage years. My dad was an alcoholic asshole treating me like shit. I was afraid of Him most of my childhood because he was unpredictable. My mother was oversensitive, crying all the time, acting as though she was a saint, perfect mother, making me blame myself for the way things were for many many years and trying to bring me up for a spineless pushover. I had no deep relationship with my much older brother. And generally all of my family, neighbors, classmates, friends either didn't know, didn't care or didn't want to intervene. Before I actually grew up, gained some social skills and was able to get out of this life-long depression my life totally sucked. Never had much real support from anyone. My brother moved out washing His hands of this, my friends, when we went to different schools turned their backs on me. And for a long time I was incredibly lonely. And now I know there are still people like me from the past somewhere, and they have no one and nobody cares, knows or wants to get involved. Some of these people go into addictions or commit suicide. Some are just miserable and in depression. And sometimes I ask myself how can some people be so ecstatically happy. Now I come to a party just to relax for some time outside my much hated home. Just to sit around for a while, spend some calm time with people I am comfortable with. And there come these "happy" people. Inconsiderate of others feelings. A few molest You with all these fun'n'games silly stuff which You don't want to do right now. They tell You You're grumpy. strange, don't know how to have fun, unfriendly or boring. Some don't even notice that You've got a bad mood. Some asshole guys take advantage of the fact You're not in a mood for any "picking up" or "show off stuff" and they start to be rude and sarcastic to You, mostly in front of girls to show off. Just that some people seem to have a double life. One life is "serious stuff" and the second life is to do all kinds of crazy stuff to get rid of the stress. And many people are simply egocentric. They don't care about Your mood, They only care about theirs... and They are only going to socialize with happy people, because people in bad mood "spoil their fun and should hide in their dens until they have a good mood again and are ready to participate in group ecstasy". But not all happy people are "happy" in this way. Because there are people who are happy and at the same time pay attention to the moods of others. Sometimes it's enough if this person just realised I'm in a bad mood, asked what's wrong with a sincere concern. I could vaguely answer in one or two sentences. This person would say He/She's sorry this happened. And that's it. Sometimes that's enough to get a better mood... and then it doesn't bother You the other person is happy. Sometimes it takes even less. A concerned look and hug or something. You don't eat caviar with champagne in front of a beggar dieing of hunger. You don't brag about millions on Your bank account, Your new sports car and vacation in the tropics with people barely having money to feed their kids. You don't tell death jokes or talk about Your great relationship to a friend at His wife's funeral. It's being considerate and respectful. A person who does things like that is an asshole and deserves to be hated, even if these things make Him egocentrically happy. Really, I guess nobody hates happy people. We just hate "happy", overly cheerful people who don't care to notice and show any empathy. Nobody requires from anyone for them to go and help people in their free time, solve their problems, go on a mission to Africa or Cambodia, get depressed in empathy or walk around sad because of all the things happening in the world. Just notice and show a little concern. ---- P.S. Silly/smiley/cheerful is not the same as happy. You can be one but not the other. There's the "careless jumping around happy", the "ecstatic, something great just happened, happy", the "serene happy" and others.
