-- Posted by CmplctedCheerGrl at 12:23 pm on July 1, 2009 I was Motherhood Maternity today with my husband and daughter picking out some clothes, and my daughter wouldn't stop standing up in her stroller (she can undo the straps).  I asked Valerie KINDLY for about 10 minutes straight to sit down - but she kept standing up over and over.  "Valerie, please sit down.  We're in a store."  "Valerie, if you sit down now, you'll get a treat later."  "Valerie, only a couple more minutes, sweetheart."   It got to the point where I had to smack her butt.  Now so you know, she's wearing a diaper.  So first of all, it's padded.  Second of all, I don't spank to hurt - I spank to scare.   Anyway, I spanked (more like tapped ) Val and another woman in the store looked at me, gave me a disgusting look and turned and said something to her mother about it.   1. Get the fuck out of my business and don't you DARE judge me until your child is my child's age. 2. I didn't hurt her, and you fucking know it. 3. My daughter's only 8 months old, though, and she's pretty well-behaved. I do know how you feel about people, though. I'm a mother of a curious two year old little boy and I do give the occasional tap on the butt or on the hand. It's never to hurt, it's to get his attention. But, the reason people look down on it so bad, is because a lot of parents don't just spank to scare or get their attention. A lot of parents spank to hurt. Oh, and so what? You got a look.
