mine does the first one.

press the key with start menu thingy and tab.

you probably pressing alt and tab by mistake.. that sign shows up when you do that

make sure your pressing windows and tab

That's what I read. Apparently you have to have Premium, I only have Basic.

You're not running Aero. Aero isn't officially available in home basic. Here's how to enable it. It will also add a translucent taskbar, a redesigned start menu, a better Alt+Tab (in addition to the 3D thing), and a translucent glass theme for window title bars.
