There are topics on pages from far back that have zero answers, it makes me feel sad looking at them. The e-help disappear fast because everyone does them but it seems that there are only a handful of support leaders that actually visit the serious forum. I just think we need to pick up the slack there, its neglected.

Looking through the forum, most topics do have at least 1 answer - but there are tons with only one or two. Better than nothing, sure, and sometimes the first response really says all or most of what there is to say, but more input could be nice.

I know from my experience it's easy to forget about The Serious Forum, so a reminder is always a good thing. If you've got some spare time or are in the mood to help people, eHelps are nice but The Serious Forum needs some love too!

Dont just look at the first page, there are 0's going back to a few pages, the last top ones i have all got from 3rd and 4th pages.

i think the problem is a combination of:
a. people treat it too much like ehelp, thinking that they should take their time to make every post long and detailed
b. people don't check it because they're too busy looking at other stuff on lw and they don't have a flashing link thingy to remind them

i think if people realize that they can just pop in there once a day and make a short, thoughtful post, the forum will really pick up

edit: tense agreement

I need to pay more attention to the Serious Forum. I know that for sure.

Yeah TSF is a bit neglected.  IMO people pay more attention to eHelp for two main reasons:
a)  It constantly flashes when there are new ones, reminding us.
b)  You get 8 points per reply.

I know blahblah points shouldn't mean anything, but reality is they do.  And yeah because there's no reminder constantly blinking at us, it's easy to forget TSF.  I hope if people have spare time they take a look around and see if they can answer any.

I feel bad if they all sit there with no help, but i know you contribute a lot to the serious forum.
