They also are some of the (if not the most) physically addictive drugs, moreso than heroin and methamphetamine. On the other hand, LSD, psylosybin, mescaline, and peyote are all Schedule I where the first offense is a felony (with harsher penalties than cocaine and methamphetamine). These drugs are not addictive and have been used for hundreds of years for therapy and meditation. Though, if you care or not, basically the most harmful drugs are legal while the safest ones are associated with the most severe penalties. Because your government loves you.   I think it's kind of funny how all the mind-expanding drugs are so "abhorrent". Must be SOMETHING they don't want you to know, right? I also love how they actually took the time to distinguish between "marijuana" and "THC" on Schedule I.
