I saw one time on oprah this women  put a bar of soap in his mouth and his throat started swelling and he died. They didnt know he was allergic to the soap he had been using it hands and it never effected him till it went in his mouth. Kid could have been saved if she would have  tried a less harmfull punishment like taking away the tv -- Posted by Mindwalker at 9:35 pm on July 2, 2009 Yah, my parents did that...once...then never again, they learned better. And by that I mean I told my mom it didn't teach me anything, and my dad that he'd lose if he tried it again. Honestly, it's not as bad as beating and might teach some kids, if it was used for oh say, swearing, as a conditioning method. They would taste soap when they swear, didn't work for me, because I didn't let it go on for long. But yah. Alternatively, there are a lot of punishments to consider before hitting or things like the soap come into play.
