When you went to get your bc the first time did they give you a full exam? Or did you just tell them and they gave it to you? I was asking, because I have been curious as to what a doctor would do when a teen came to them and told him they wanted bc.

WoW. I thought they would give a full on exam. That is strange. Okay. Thanks to those who are answering.

When you hit 18 you should be going in for a full phsycial. Or earlier if you're sexual active. But for Birth Control they might just right you a perscription. that's what my doctor did.

With many insurances if you have already had a physical for that year they are unable to give you another so you cannot get a full exam sometimes. The doctor I work for will talk with them and get basic vitals and write the rx.

I asked for birth control, and I didn't have to get a full exam. I was already going to the doctor, and I was supposed to have a PAP done in June, because I was sexually active.

They gave it to me after I had Enrique and wrote me a script after Chase. Before Enrique I got my blood pressure andweight taken.

So they didn't do any exam on you? They just went ahead and wrote it?

What you have to realize is that many teens don't get their BC from the GYN. Many tend to get it from a Pediatrician and the Ped. rarely does a pelvic exam and it is not necessary.

Pelvic Exam? Oh. When you say that Cheif it does seem to make more sense.

Yeah, I just got mine from my pediatrician. If you are sexually active, though, they should at least make you an appointment for a PAP smear.
