... from the doctor to seek "individual psychotherapy"... Now I just have to go ahead and call and actually set up an appointment with someone.

Part of me knows I should, but the other part says that I should wait until I have more money.  My insurance would cover the bulk of it, but I do have to pay a small co-pay, and that adds up.

I've had the referral for a month now... and I still haven't called :(.

For any of you that see or talk to anyone, did you have to set up the appointments and stuff yourself?  Or did you have someone that did it for you?

When I was going through recovery for my eating disorder, I talked to a psychiatrist. My mom made a lot of the appointments for me with my consent, but I also would schedule my next appointment with my psychiatrist at the end of an appointment.

Mine were all set up by my parents, I was just dragged along to them. If I was to change therapists now though I would be the one who makes the appointments and any arrangements, which I see as a relief.

You know your own finances better than I do, but I think that if you can scrape up enough money to go, then it will be worth it in the long run.
Do you have any friends or family that you could take with you? That might ease some of the tension.

I wouldn't take my sister, so the only person I might take would be my boyfriend.  But for me... I think I get more anxious when I know people know I have problems or know what's bothering me.  In a sense, I think I feel worse when I know others see 'weakness'.  Though I know that's a ridiculous way to look at it, because my boyfriend wouldn't see it that way, I can't really convince myself otherwise -__-'.

And I definitely have money for it... but with the way things are right now, it may be to my benefit to save up.  But if it really does help me with at least stress or anxiety, then the money would be worth it... otherwise, saving up is more important.
