We're thinking of making a t-shirt with Mao Zedong's face on it or, like, a shirt that says "Democracy loves you" .... just something playful and good-natured. (Someone suggested making a shirt with an arrow pointed to the side and right above it "I'm with a commie".. but that was a bit much).

On some level, I think it's a good way to start things off; it's a good conversation starter and whatnot.. but, on another level I think it could get awkward if the new person takes it the wrong way.

What do you guys think? Good? Bad? Have you ever had a foreign roommate?

I dont know, but I think your first objective should be to convince your new roommate that Asian people are responsible for the laundry, cooking, and cleaning, and thats just how its done in America.

i actually like the joke but that's because i've been in canada for a long time now

BUT i still like this stuff, i suggest you work it in after you get to know each other
