Someone asked me that and I couldn't respond.
I know how the theory works in practicality, but I don't know things like how new features are created with no precedent, or why multiple generations come up with identical new genes.
I was never taught Evolution in school, thanks to the good 'ol academics of Florida. That's sad.

You are thinking about macro evolution. Not micor evolution. There is a difference. Micro evolution is solid irrefutable fact. You dont need to think we came from monkeys to know that evolution is FACT. That is just one side of evolution.

Stop with your strawman arguments. It is not that we share a common ancestor simply because there are genetic similarities, but that the genetic similarities, differences and the pattern that emerges when studying this is in such a way that only universal common descent can explain this.
