My sons intelligence level scares the crap out of me. He is 16 months, says 100s of words, knows all his body parts, pets and farm animals and the sound they make. Can read a few words and has started making 2 and 3 word sentences. He quickly becomes bored with educational material I buy him and I find it hard to find new videos and games for him. I feel really bad because I want him to go to a private school when he is 3 but I live in the middle of no where and the only really good school cost thousands a month. This is him reading in his room.

That is the most adorable picture ever. I'm only 17 so I don't have kids of my own, but I do babysit and I know exactly what you mean. The things that kids can do at a young age are amazing!

We own our house so we can't just get up and leave. But I am thinking about rent it out and buying a new one in town.

I swear... if I see my kid doing that, I may just cry.

You might want to consider moving to someplace else. Wherever is the best for your kid that you can afford. They grow up fast so get a move on it!

My husband also thinks he should be home schooled but I think that if he was he wouldn't get the social skill he needs later in life.

Wow. :-) You can always enroll him in various sports programs for socialization. Anything from karate to swimming to Boy Scouts. Whatever he's interested in. A lot of times that's far better socialization than just shoving kids in school and expecting them to go off and make tons of friends on their own. I feel much the same. I desperately wanted Hunter to go to private school but it's like $1500/month.

I never thought of enrolling him in sports. I'm going to have to look in to that.

A lot of the good stuff doesn't start until more school aged (3-5) but there's usually swimming and kindergym programs for under 2s at gymnastics schools and rec centers. Best of luck. He's a cutie :)
