for a job to not put your schedule up until the first day of the week, and nobody tell you that you have to work that day, then bitch and threaten to fire you, or just simply fire you, when you don't show up. maybe i'm missing something maybe it's a funny marketing strategy for future employees and i just don't get the joke.

ours doesnt either. and if you take a tip, regardless of your department, you will get fired if you're caught.

I never really got why my past employer did this. It made life a little difficult because I would have to wait til the end of the week to make plans for the next week. I couldn't just change my work days right before the next week of work because I had something to do that week. Which is damn near ironic.

My boss used to do that too. He once took my tip away from me because a customer came back to the kitchen and gave me $5 for cooking her food "really good".

see, i don't get that shit. if you're doing a good job and your boss isn't giving you a raise or a promotion, is $5 really unfair to everyone else...really? no, it's not. they check the parking lot cameras at night to make sure nobody is taking any.
