with someone, or do you just kind of do it and not really reflect on what kind of person you are, how your voice sounds, what impression your mannerisms give, etc. until later? Curious. I think that when I try to manipulate myself into something "better" I come off as kind of annoying and unattractive, but it's tough to filter which motivations are positive ones and which ones aren't.

i'm probably the second one, i talk now, think about it later. but i dont mean that i'm a complete arse to people straight up, i do think about what to say before i say it.. usually.

around my mates or what ever, im me and don't really think much about it. but around other people, i do sort of think about it until i know them a bit

Quite conscious of it. I speak differently depending on who I'm talking to, what I'm talking about, and where I'm located. It's not a real conscious effort to have to alter how I speak a great deal of the time, it happens rather naturally, but I am quite aware that I do it.
