ok so i'm sure livewire gets lots of people self-diagnosing and claiming to have one thing or another, BUT i just saw the wiki on spd and i think i might have it:
          1. neither desires nor enjoys close relationships, including being part of a family
          2. almost always chooses solitary activities
          3. has little, if any, interest in having sexual experiences with another person
          4. takes pleasure in few, if any, activities
          5. lacks close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
          6. appears indifferent to the praise or criticism of others
          7. shows emotional coldness, detachment, or flattened affectivity

i tick all those boxes. plus it says it begins in adolesence, and i've been told that i changed alot when i nwas about 13/14.

what do you think, get it checked out? will a regular gp do that or would it need to be a psychiatrist?

Go see a psychologist. I'm sure they'll tell u that
A)Wiki is NOT the best place for ANYTHING. and
B)That theres about 30,000 other disease with these symptoms

That and when you self-diagnose yourself, you tend to be a bit biast. You may think you are that way, cuz when you're reading it, it think, OH! i do that!
You'd have to ask someone who knows u well.

1. i know wiki isn't the best place but they can't manage to bullshit 7 symptoms entirely
2. it's not a disease, and all the other ones probably come with stabbing-tendencies
3. i know there's space for inaccuracy, but not that much
4. please pay ettention, i don't have anyone who knows me well.

I'd say go to a psychiatrist.
If you think you might have it, it's always comforting to know you don't or if you do, have the certainty that that's what it is, and you can seek help.

Why do people want to have a mental illness so badly?  Sigh.

Okay, it should first be said that everyone displays a couple of characteristics of a mental illness or psychological disorder at times. However, it does not mean you suffer from any.

If you exhibit several of the characteristics for more than a period of time that lasts longer than a day, and it interferes with your daily life then you may possibly have a psychological disorder and should schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist.

A word of advice: psychological disorders and mental illnesses are not fun, you don't want one.  If I were you, unless you end up in the hospital for a suicide attempt, you should count yourself blessed and continue to live your life oblivious that mental illnesses even exist.

If he does have any of those symptoms and feels that he might have this disorder, as doubtful as it is with self-medicating on the internet, it can be very helpful if he goes to see someone. If he does show any of those symptoms and has for some time seeing someone might help him with any of those problems without him necessarily having a disorder. Mental illness is a very serious issue and should not be taken lightly. It's better to be safe than sorry, and seeing a professional would do no harm to him. It's best to prevent any possibly injury that could be inflicted upon himself if he does indeed have a disorder.

Most of the cases where an individual does have a psychological disorder there was a major event that took place or problematic behavior was present and recognized by an outside source.  There is a common delusion among people with any mental illness that nothing is wrong with them.  Hence, my skeptical view upon this poor lad.

Regardless, I advised him to see a psychiatrist and, I think, of what any psychiatrist would advise: if he shows more than a couple of symptoms for a few weeks that disrupt his daily life then he should schedule an appointment.  He could go see one now, but in the field of psychology, if it does not disrupt your daily life in an unconventional, or extreme, manner then chances are you're just a regular person.
I see no point in him going to see a psychiatrist now since he would have to be completely honest, with a unbiased perception, so the psychiatrist can clearly diagnose him.  And since he's under the impression that he may have the disorder his perception is tainted at the moment.  At this time he'll have seemingly made all sorts of connections in past events that would be symptoms of the disorder. So, I see no point in
him wasting his time unless the problems persist.
