Come August, I'm going to college, and like every other college out there, mine requires a health form to be filled out by your doctor. Well, I gave mine to my doctor like a month and a half ago, and she never filled it out. I went back 2 weeks ago and I was told that I had to go get a blood test and then it would be filled out. Well, I went and had the test done. Today, I went to get my form and they were like, it's not filled out and you have to get another test done or else she won't fill it out. I mean, are they for real? Can a doctor withhold your papers for college because they want to do a test that you don't want? Thanks!

USA

It really depends on the state. In Canada, yes they can. Most states of the United States, they can legally refuse you attendance if you don't fill out a health form because you could be carrying something (Like Swine Flu) that could affect the others. STILL, it is border-line of abuse of the Carter of Human Rights (UN) and your rights under the United States Constitution. Ask them, if they REALLY need two tests done. I really can't see any issue anyways why you can't just do both.

My health form is supposed to be in already! It's kind of a problem that my doctor won't give it to me... I'm in NY by the way.

Legally, doctors do not have to sign off on health forms until they get all they need for it.

Are you sure? Because this isn't necessary information or tests...it's extra crap that she wants because I'm not perfect.

Well, now you explained it. If its necessary information yes, but not side information or crap like that. If the information is highly necessary and needed by the College, you should provide it for the doctor. If she wants il-relevant crap, tell her no. If needed, find a new doctor.

It's yet ANOTHER blood test because I tested as anemic twice, both times being when I was on my period...plus, I hardly eat meat or beans, and I don't take any supplements. But no, that's not enough for my doctor...she wants to search for a real medical reason for the anemia...

So I talked to the NP and I got my form. BUT, she's making me get a pelvic exam. Idk why. When I saw her 2 weeks ago she said there was no hurry and that I could wait if I wanted to!
