I dont know if you know about promise keepers or not, so here is a link to their site: http://www.promisekeepers.org/ Promise keepers is an organization dedicated to Christian Men and helping men be better husbands. In fact, in their about us, they claim:
Promise Keepers' mission is to to ignite and unite men to become warriors who will change their world through living out the Seven Promises. Promise Keepers' vision is simply put in three words: "Men Transformed Worldwide."
The recently announced that they were going to begin welcoming women and children into their organizations. Why? Why would women want to be better husbands? Why would they want to be transformed men? this makes no sense to me.

They are going to have to change their name then, since its currently: Promise keepers: Men of Integrity.

Didn't the head of Promise Keepers just admit an affair? I feel like I read that and was sad. My father and I went to a Promise Keepers convention once. I was a child, so I'm not sure what is changing now so that they "accept" children. If the goal is to extend the program to help women be better wives, it would seem wiser to create a sister organization.

I think you are thinking of the senator from Nevada, Ensign who is an active promise keeper, and WAS on the list of republican hopefuls in 2012. I think maybe it is girl children they are accepting? Idk. I agree about a sister organization.

Seems like a generic evangelical cult to me. Just sifting through the site, that's exactly what it seems to be. People who assume everyone else must be wrong without actually saying so.
