I find it pretty ridiculous, I find all religions faintly ridiculous, but especially Scientology.

It just seems so incredibly silly, it amazes me that so many people have been drawn in.

This.

I can't believe the number of people that think Dianetics will get rid of inner stress that's locked up deep inside your brain from our fetal stages or something. However in the larger scheme of things, it's just another religion. It will aim to gain an income and it will aim to gain in numbers.

Livewire seems to love scientology judging by all the ads we host.

ahaha sounds like something Tom Cruise would say.

Scientology uses a form of brain washing. They tell you that there are so many horrible problems with you and that only they have the solution and they can give you this solution if you pay money. Kind of like the more evil twin brother of Christianity on heroin.

But yeah, a cult that scams people.

Does any one know what Scientology stands for?

I've read their website and it is the most intellectually vacuous content I have ever read (including the bible).

A brain-washing cult designed to con people out of their money and turn them against their friends and family.

They use brain washing techniques to suck people in, and they gradually spoon feed people with the more ridiculous stuff. I think its a bit like the Nazi's, most people disagree but if they were actually there at the time they would probably have been sucked in along with the majority. Apart from people who are very good at controlling their own mind, most people just go into reactive mode in situations like this.

Scientology was pacifically designed for this purpose, while, as far as I am aware, Christianity is a more 'organic' meme.
