No.

Love is basically a mutual attraction between two individuals in which they can fully express all their emotions and be assured that they won't be judged. Someone who they can spend all their time together with, loving every second of it. Something that takes a while to discover. Not necessarily are the two people alike, but it's their differences which make them perfect for each other.

Love is a feeling,
Quench my desire,
Give it when I want it
Takin' me higher
Love is a woman
I don't wanna hear it
Give in to me

So when you say you love your mother, you are saying the two of you are mutually attracted to one another?

Not in that sense, no. I feel that their are two forms of love. On in which (forgive me, I can't remember what it's called) it's like you love the person because you are family with them, but another is a form where you love them for who they are. When you are in love with someone, is the definition I gave above.

I never felt like i could define it half as good as Paul.

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy it does not boast. it is not rude or self seeking.IT is not easily angered. love keeps no record of wrongs.

love does not rejoice in evil, but delights in the truth, love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres.

love isnt one thing, it is many. it has forms and faces. Love is sacrifice. Love is bigger than any one of us, but found in all of us. Love defies rules, standards, and expectations. Love fills the gaps.

see. my defintion isnt nearly as pretty.

You're saying what love does, but you aren't saying the literal definition which is what he is asking.

because love is defined by how we see it. We know love because of its fruits.

love is a decision

-- Posted by LogicandReason at 5:42 am on July 10, 2009

Love is driving a Honda and not a a Mercedes so your kids can go to a better school.  Love is committing time to others that you once spent on yourself.  Love is sacrificing personal ambitions for a greater cause than yourself.  Love is an act, and not an emotion, that compels you to give of yourself.

As much as I disagree with much of what the Apostle Paul wrote, he sort of nailed this concept in 1 Cor 13:4-7 (shock, and atheist quoting the  Bible).
