I think this church is just after the media attention, but they're getting a lot more than they asked for. Hundreds of people have left the church in the past week because of what's going on. I bet they have quite a few locals who depend on them for assistance. That alone doesn't make much sense to me. Well, it's an "outreach center" somewhat evolved into a church (and only a church). They still give a few things away, not nearly what they used to though. The church has been around for 25 years, so the town sort of morphed into what it is today with the church staying in the same spot.
